Multihop Networks : Performance Modeling Undernon - Uniform Traffic

چکیده
Performance modeling under non-uniform traac is a useful tool to validate simulation accuracy and lend insights to realistic implementation of multihop networks. In this article, we present a performance model capable of tracking non-uniform traac for an arbitrary multihop network. Our model is a an extension of Greenberg-Goodman and Brassil-Cruz models which are limited to Manhattan Street networks. By considering packets with non-null states only, we also provide an improved computational eeciency. Application to estimate the performance of Toroidal Mesh and Diagonal Mesh networks under non-uniform traf-c is provided. Comparison of performance parameters derived from the model and from simulation show good agreement. Limitations of our memory-less and independence assumptions based model are addressed.

A Systematic Method to Analyze Transport Networks: Considering Traffic Shifts
Current network modeling practices usually assess the network performance at specified time interval, i.e. every 5 or 10 years time horizon. Furthermore, they are usually based on partially predictable data, which are being generated through various stochastic procedures. In this research, a new quantitative based methodology which combines combinatorial optimization modeling and transportation...
متن کاملModeling Connectivity of Inter-Vehicle Communication Systems with Road-Side Stations
In this letter, we study the improvement that road-side stations can bring to the multihop connectivity of intervehicle communication in a traffic stream. With a recursive model of connectivity, we study impacts of different densities of road-side stations and different positions of road-side stations for uniform or non-uniform traffic streams.

Most of the existing works have been evaluated the performance of 802.11 multihop networks by considering the MAC layer or network layer separately. Knowing the nature of the multi-hop ad hoc networks, many factors in different layers are crucial for study the performance of MANET. In this paper we present a new analytic model for evaluating average end-to-end throughput in IEEE 802.11e multiho...
متن کاملA Framework for Efficient Hybrid Simulation Modeling and Optimal Control of Multihop Wireless Networks
The performance of multihop wireless networks (MWN) is normally studied via discrete event simulation over a fixed time horizon using a steady-state type of statistical analysis procedure. However, due to the dynamic nature of network connectivity and nonstationary traffic, such an approach may be inappropriate as the network may spend most time in a transient/nonstationary state. Moreover, the...
